History

In March 1999, Mercado Abierto Electrónico S.A. of the Republic of Argentina and Bolsa Electrónica de Valores del Uruguay S.A. (BEVSA) entered into a strategic alliance including, among other things, technological complementation and joint development of a software for electronic trading named SIOPEL. In April 2000, the San Pablo Stock Exchange (BOVESPA) of Brazil joined this strategic alliance.

Within this framework, SIOPEL was developed with the features outlined below: a software designed with cutting-edge technology which contemplates the markets’ operational procedures and provides security and transparency in transactions.

SIOPEL®‘s competitive advantages, which position it as one of the best software systems worldwide, include its high parameterization level. The system’s behavior is fully parametric supported by tables regulating its functions and configuration. The system manager may thus define the options to be used and their specific behavior. This is essential considering rapidly-changing times and the need to find adequate environments and trading methodologies to develop new businesses.
